Online courseware and educational technology have dramatically expanded learning opportunities for countless individuals – not least of whom the disabled. At WebCT (acquired by Blackboard), I co-developed an online course for instructors on universal design and accessibility for the development of their courses (2002).

That work dovetailed with my earlier career and study in Sign Language Linguistics in Italy and the U.S.  It also helped inform my contributions to the Fidelity Investments Accessibility initiative, where I was a member of the steering committee and led Deaf & Hearing Impaired persona development. This presentation showcases a small part of Fidelity’s commitment to universal accessibility headed up by Tom Tullis, a former professor of mine and thought leader on accessibility and aging.
